Women's Center Library

The Women's Center’s lending library is available to students, staff, faculty and community members. The space resembles a cozy living room where people can study, relax, nap, and enjoy the convenience of computer access.

We offer over 4,000 volumes in collections of fiction, non-fiction, and poetry, with a focus on gender, race, sexuality, ability, class, religion, and much more. In addition, we subscribe to a variety of magazines such as Bust, MS., Hyphen, Make-Shift, Shameless, Working Mother, Brain Child, and Bitch.  Our film collection is comprised of 50 films on topics such as sexual harassment, body image, advertising and women in the media (and) masculinity.

All members of the UCSD community are welcome to register for and borrow books from the library. For more information about how to register and view our searchable database of library holdings, please visit the Women's Center Online Library Database. We welcome your book recommendations, as well as book donations (titles published after 2015 are preferred).  Please contact Jess Geipel with comments and/or questions about our library.

Book Club

Join us for our first Book Club of the school year! We will be reading “Bad Feminist” by Roxane Gay.  We meet every Friday at 10 AM in the Women’s Center Living Room.

Chapters can be read standalone so stop by whenever you can throughout the quarter. Visit our linktr.ee for the calendar on what we'll be discussing each week: linktr.ee/ucsdwomen 🗓️
For each Book Club meeting that students attend they will be entered into a raffle at the end of the quarter to win the rest of Roxane Gay’s books! For questions or accommodations please email women@ucsd.edu.
