STEMtorship Network

Please check back in September for information about the 2022-23 program.

The STEMtorship Network program is intended to create space where gender marginalized undergraduate students can connect and build community within the larger context of STEM as a male dominated field. We use the term “gender marginalized” to recognize the impact of sexism on many communities including, but not limited to, transgender women, cisgender women, transgender men, non-binary individuals, and gender non-conforming individuals.

The STEMtorship Network will center around the core themes of Gender & Science, Professional Development & Community Building. The Women’s Center will host events from these core themes each quarter. Events will be in-person and virtual. Participants will also have the opportunity to join a small online community and complete some activities together. In addition, the Women’s Center will identify programs offered by other campus offices that embody the core themes that students can attend as part of the STEMtorship Network program.

Students are invited to engage and attend STEMtorship Network workshops & events as their schedule allows. However, students who wish to fully participate in the program can receive credit on their Co-Curricular Record (CCR). The Women’s Center will offer at least 8 engagement opportunities throughout the Winter and Spring Quarters. Students must attend 5 (at least 1 per each key content area) sessions and complete all reflective assignments to receive CCR credit.
